Since the weather is getting nicer, we tend to take our exercises outdoors. Exercising outdoors will take some time for adjustment. You should transition your exercising outdoors gradually. First of all there are the elements to contend with, so wear appropriate footwear and dress properly.
Another factor to consider when exercising outdoors is your terrain. It will definitely take some getting use to walking or running on a different surface than the treadmill or track. To ease into this, start off walking, and gradually add in increments of a jog. This is a good period for interval training.
As you know, running on asphalt and cement is not as good as running on a mulched or grassy path. Your body will eventually get use to the outdoor activity. It’s something we have to adjust to every year.
Finally, there is humidity with which there is an adjustment. It will take your body 7-14 days to acclimate for the dense air. So be mindful of all these variables when do your exercising outdoors!
