Hey guys we are getting into the “holiday season” and things will get extremely busy and you may
want to blow off any exercise to burn off fat. My reply to you is don’t do it! Now is the most important time to keep up with that exercise routine you have been so diligent about all year. Did you know you could actually gain between 5-10 pounds between Thanksgiving and New Year?
If time is limited and you want to exercise to burn off fat, may I suggest a circuit using machines. This is an awesome way to do weight bearing exercise in a way where you also get the benefit of cardio exercising. Focus on the major muscle groups. Start with the larger muscle groups like legs, chest, back, shoulders and then move on to the smaller groups of biceps and triceps.
Set a decent amount of weight on the machines and go from one machine to the next with out stopping. Do this a minimum of three times around hitting the major muscle groups. You will find your heart rate will increase and you are still working your muscles.
Alternate the push and pull action of muscle groups. Do a movement of pushing away for chest followed by a pulling for back. Do legs and then shoulders allowing recovery time and optimizing your workout in a timely way. Then superset your bis and tris at the end and add in some abs.
This routine should help with plateaus, change up your regimen and keep you pumped, fit and a fat burning machine during this busy season!
