Ok, so maybe you have done the same dumbbell workouts all year. You are getting bored and you are not seeing the results you expect. What are you going to do? Quitting is NOT an option. What you do is change your routine. Perhaps you want to learn new exercises that would tweak your muscles differently. Good idea.
How about using the same exercises but do them differently. Perhaps you should slow down the exercise. Make the muscles work harder and longer. Maybe you want to concentrate more on the negative or the eccentric move instead of the concentric move.
You could also incorporate drop sets into the mix. Forcing your muscles to fire differently. Whatever you decide, pick out a strategy and stick with it for a month and then change it up again. Variety is good for your psyche and it’s good for your muscles!
