hunky guy & am. flagWeight training workouts or resistance training involves lifting and lowering weight in a predetermined range of motion whether you are using free weights or machines. When deciding to start your weight training workouts it is most effective to engage in proper form and technique.

Weight machines limit your muscles to a fixed plane and motion. However, they are easier to use and help to isolate targeted muscle groups. Free weights on the other hand are cheaper, can be used in a variety of routines and requests more stimulation from your muscles, and requires more balance, coordination and use of the stabilizing muscles.

Using free weights in your weight training workouts cause the muscle tension to vary and is limited to the range of motion (ROM) by the strength of the weakest muscle at the weakest point. As a result, there is enough resistance in certain parts of the ROM and not enough resistance to others. This can be limiting to a beginner strength trainer.

Using variable resistance machines are theoretically designed to vary the resistance throughout the ROM of the exercise. There are machines designed to train all the major muscle groups. They are designed to have resistant force throughout the ROM and provide less force for the weaker movement of the exercise and support more resistance in stronger segments of the movement. Exercise machines provide various resistant movement for a designed ROM. That is why when you are choosing weight training workouts many people opt for using machines. Using resistance machines is popular and also a safe and simple exercise session.
